Wizard in the Classic form is all over the place. The idea is to switch abilities around a bit so that the speclines make more sense.
Earth is now a fully viable standalone line. It received a baseline DD and AoE DoT to cover reliable AoE presence. Snare DD removed. Unique combination of Bolt + DoT + DD single target dmg. Self debuffing serves as a single target interrupt/speed break and minor situational dmg increase.
The Ice spec snare DDs now have the highest snare DD duration in the game, AoE Root added is now baseline. Baseline DD slightly buffed. Great kiting potential. PBAoE remains iconic. The instant debuffs are in line with the Ice theme, as they slow either cast time or swing speed, they also provide much needed utility to the otherwise relatively bland spec line.
Fire has gotten slightly more independent damage capacity with self-debuff DDs while keeping its original DPS in a setting where a Sorc debuffs Heat resistance.
Damage Shield is now Fire’s baseline and has increased value. (Dmg shields don’t break CC on Blackthorn).
