The Blackthorn Group Finder is a tool designed to help players find groups faster by making it easier to advertise that they are looking for a group (LFG) and discover other players who are available to group. The goal is to make grouping easier while preserving the social and cooperative nature of Dark Age of Camelot.
How it Works
To open the Group Finder window, type:
/btgrp When opened, the Group Finder contains three main tabs:
1. My Characters
The My Characters tab allows you to manage your own LFG status.
From here you can:
- Flag your characters as Looking For Group (LFG)
- Update your availability
- Make yourself visible to other players searching for group members
Players who mark themselves as LFG will appear in the Players LFG tab for other players to find.
2. Groups
The Groups tab allows you to browse currently available groups.
You can:
- Search for existing groups
- View groups that are looking for additional members
- See the current group composition before joining
This allows players to quickly identify groups that need their class, role, or playstyle.
3. Players LFG
The Players LFG tab allows group leaders to find available players.
You can:
- Filter players who are currently flagged as LFG
- Search for specific classes or level ranges
- Review available players
- Invite players directly to your group
This makes filling missing group spots faster and reduces the need for repeated LFG messages in chat.
Tips for Using Group Finder
- Remember to flag yourself as LFG when you are actively searching for a group.
- Group leaders should check the Players LFG tab when looking to fill empty spots.
- Players looking for groups should regularly check the Groups tab for available opportunities.
- Use the Group Finder alongside traditional communication methods such as /lfg and realm chat to maximize your chances of finding a group.
