The Loot Roll System streamlines loot distribution for groups and battlegroups by providing multiple loot modes that can be configured by the group or battlegroup leader. The system is designed to reduce downtime, automate loot handling, and ensure valuable items are distributed fairly.

Loot Modes
There are three different modes that can used for Loot Rolls:
- Raid
- Need/Greed
- Autosplit
The leader of the battlegroup or group decides the loot roll setting.
1. Raid Mode (default)
Raid mode is the default loot distribution method and best for large raids.
- Standard loot is automatically split between eligible players.
- Higher-value items dropped by sufficiently high-level mobs trigger a loot roll instead of being automatically split.
- The minimum mob level and item utility required to trigger a roll are configurable by the group or battlegroup leader.
- By default, players have 60 seconds to roll and may make up to 2 rolls during that time. Both values can be customized by the leader.
- If you roll on an item and lose, you gain a pity point for the item you lost. Next time you roll for an item, +10 will be added to your roll until you win it (base roll is 1-1000).

2. Need/Greed Mode
Need / Greed mode is intended primarily for experience groups where players want to distribute upgrades quickly.
Rolls will occur for every non-trash drop your group earns. Players can choose to roll:
- Need — if a player wants the item
- Greed — if a player will take the item, but doesn’t need it
- Pass — if a player doesn’t want the item
Need beats greed, so the system will distribute the item to the highest roll of a player who rolled “Need.” If every player passes, the system automatically performs a Greed roll.

3. Autosplit Mode
This mode preserves the original Dark Age of Camelot loot system.
- Loot is automatically split using the classic DAoC behavior.
- The Blackthorn Loot Roll interface is disabled.
- If a battlegroup treasurer has been assigned, the traditional Treasurer system is used instead.
