Overview

  • Craft skills are shared across all characters on the same realm.
  • Crafting can be completed by traditional means, or by opening the custom /craft window.
  • Crafters can fulfill Craft Orders from within the /craft window. See Template Builder for more information.
  • You may choose one primary craft at a time which offers additional bonuses to that line.
  • Craft speed is increased in the capital cities and by realm contributions to helping others.
  • We have added craft tables and merchants to many of the towns throughout the realm, as well as Darkness Falls.
  • Crafting will provide low levels of experience to the crafter.
  • Crafting tasks can be completed which add additional bonuses.
  • Added quality of life changes:
    • Implemented inventory management commands including /sell and /salvage all
    • When spellcrafting, the quality of your gems does not matter, only the quality of the item being spellcrafted affects the imbue potential.

Craft Window

  • Type /craft to open the custom Blackthorn crafting interface
  • This modernized ui allows you to buy materials, craft, enhance, and salvage without the need for any macros.

Primary Craft Skills

  • Speak to a tradeskill master to obtain a primary craft.
  • You may only have one primary craft per character at a time.
  • Changing your primary craft does not affect your other craft skill levels, but switching may cost gold depending on your primary craft skill level.
  • Primary Craft Bonuses:
    • 50% faster crafting time for recipes in that line.
    • 25% higher success chance.
    • 25% higher chance to gain skill points.
    • +1% masterpiece chance.
    • The strongest enhancement privileges for that specialization, including full reward eligibility and the easiest blanket application.

Enhancement

Crafters may enhance certain items to give them unique bonuses and make them grow more powerful over time.

How it Works

Type /enhance to open the enhancement UI and follow the on-screen instructions:
  1. Choose if you want to enhance using DF seals or enhance using regular materials
  1. Choose the item in your inventory you wish to enhance
  1. Choose the type of enhancement (based on your crafting skill)
  1. The UI will show you the enhancement options within that craft skill line
  1. Click enhance <crafting line> to finalize

Notes:

  • Enhancement is intended to support your realm mates by equipping them for battle, earning rewards for yourself and helping their enhanced items grow more powerful over time. This will provide crafters with an alternative path to just sitting at a crafting table all day.
  • Items can only be enhanced when the item is: level 48 or below, no greater than 10 levels above the crafter, and no more than 300 craft skill levels above the crafter’s skill for that item.
  • Enhanced items progress over a few levels when used to slay monsters or players.
  • Enhancing items may reward the crafter with craft skills or experience.
  • The enhanced item will proudly display the name of the crafter who enhanced it.
  • Items, when delved, will show who enhanced them and what the current status of the enhancement is.

Practical Advice For Players

  • Choose your primary craft based on the kind of work you want your name attached to.
  • If you care about enhancement, choose a primary craft that can enhance the kind of item you want to improve most often.
  • Choose carefully before enhancing crafted gear, especially if you want Spellcrafting to be part of the final plan.
  • Your primary craft gives the cheapest and most rewarding enhancement path.
  • Off-specialization enhancement is still useful, but it gives up some rewards and convenience.
  • Alchemy is the most utility-focused path. Spellcrafting is the most build-focused path.
  • Weaponcrafting, Armorcrafting, Tailoring, and Fletching are the best picks if your goal is direct item-level gains.
