General & RvR

Class for a casual soloer, and groupplay

Hey all,

What are your thoughts on a solid first char to make at launch, which will allow me to solo to a decent level, but also be group friendly come end-game PvE/RvR?

I thought a Runemaster, or SpiritMaster, but would love to hear your thoughts and reasoning.
Shaman
1st spec 38 Aug, 37 Cave, 9 mend
2nd spec 24 Aug, 47 Cave, 9mend

(Opinions, butt holes, yadda yadda)
Skald for choose your fights with high speed, a lot of tools, decent damages.

Hunter well played it's fun.

I suspect I'd also NEVER have an issue getting a group as a Shaman too - I guess unless there's already one in the group!

I did enjoy my Hunter back in the day, but always enjoyed a Ranger or Scout more. Can't remember why though, but perhaps I didn't get on with the Pet mechanics.
I think a well played eldritch could be interesting too for solo, but skald seems decent, like reaver or stealthers
I am thinking of trying a Mid. never really did that. Also thinking speed is a must, so have been messing around with the Skald and Runie.

We get Bounty Point stones, which are almost same speed as caster speed.
-DAoC since 1st of april 2002- and yet never really got any good at it.
Don’t ask which class is best.
Just think about what you actually want to do in the game. Are you a mage who deals damage from a distance? Are you a fighter with a sword and shield, or perhaps a damage dealer wielding a two-handed weapon? Do you like to support your teammates, or are you someone who likes to control the battlefield?

You’ll only play your character well if you enjoy the way that particular class is meant to be played.

So what’s YOUR playstyle?

I’d rather play in a group with a well-played Bonedancer than with a poorly played Skald

The question was more to gauge if any classes are more casual friendly, as I won't have excessive time to play I'd rather focus in on a class I can pick up more quickly than others, and be group friendly in PvE and RvR.

I've decided on a SM, FWIW .
