Veil Dust is a new mainland PvE resource designed to give players a meaningful reason to engage with the classic PvE zones, particularly at lower levels. It provides an additional progression path for players who frequently create and level new characters while connecting mainland PvE activity directly to the endgame Reforging system.
Overview
Veil Dust is obtained primarily by killing mobs and named mobs throughout the mainland, with higher drop rates on lower-level creatures to encourage activity across the full level range.
Veil Dust is intended to:
- Revitalize mainland PvE zones by giving mobs a valuable resource drop.
- Encourage low-level PvE activity rather than concentrating all resource farming at level 50.
- Reward mainland named-mob hunting through substantially increased drop rates.
- Provide ongoing value to leveling new characters, making repeated alt creation a meaningful progression activity.
- Connect PvE and RvR progression by making Veil Dust one of the required resources for Reforging alongside Frontier RvR resources.
- Preserve the importance of classic mainland zones by giving players a reason to continue interacting with them throughout the life of the server.

Named mobs provide significantly higher chances of obtaining Veil Dust, creating an additional incentive to seek out and hunt mainland named encounters.
Chest Rewards
Opening a Chest also provides a guaranteed amount of Veil Dust in addition to the optional reward the chest already provides:
- Chest below level 10: 3× Veil Dust
- Chest below level 20: 2× Veil Dust
- Chest level 20+: 1× Veil Dust
Role in Reforging
Veil Dust serves as the mainland PvE component of the Reforging system and is the required 4th resource in any reforge. It works in conjunction with the resources obtained through Frontier RvR, making both PvE and RvR participation relevant to the reforging process.
